The SCLS (Shalangamaland-Cheese Land-Smartsheepland) Nation, formerly SSS, and SCL nation, is a group of two small islands between New Zealand and Antarctica, the west island (Shalangamaland), and the east island (Cheese Land, Smartsheepland), each state being somewhat independent but run under one leader and broad government. This place is where the vast majority of bobgus lore takes place.
The SCLS Nation is ruled by Garfunkel the turtle , who runs the nation under a democratic communist government. There are very few people that have more of a say in SCLS lawmaking and politics than the broad population other than Garfunkel himself.
Founding of Shalangamaland
The SCLS nation was founded by Garfunkel the turtle in 2024 (Malu Zakus), who at the time led a nomadic tribe of 10 - 30 people that travelled all around east Asia. Garfunkel realized that in order to sustain a well functioning society within his tribe, he would need his own country and government, so he organized a team of sailors that could sail him around the pacific ocean in search of an untouched island. After around a month, he set sail on one and named it Shalangamaland, named the unnamed language they spoke Shalangamalanguage, and named the people Shalangamen. He and a few sailors stayed on the island and built small shelters while the rest of the tribe was shipped to the island.
After the rest of the tribe landed on the island, Garfunkel had himself and a few strong tribesmen build Shalangamatraz, made to house Frederick after the Great Bobgus War and other criminals. Later after the construction of Shalangamatraz, Garfunkel came to a small tied island at the very southeast edge of Shalangamaland, and named it Garfunkel Town. This would act as the capital of the country. A castle (Castle Bobgus) was constructed here, where Garfunkel would live until this day.
Smartsheepland
Just after the second war on Garfunkel, Shalangamaland reached out to another very close island to the east. This island was discovered to have a population of sheep-like creatures living on it. They wore glasses and had their own language. Shalangamen adopted the term of Smartsheep to refer to them, and Smartsheepish to refer to their language. Garfunkel and other shalangamen formed an alliance with the community, and helped them build an economy. This was the birth of the SSS Nation, consisting of Shalangamaland and Smartsheepland, the west island and the east island. Later in the alliance, the Bobgus Bridge was built to connect the two islands.
Colonization
A mysterious group of people sailing around the area threatened that if the SSS government didn't give up the two islands, they would claim the land through violence. Garfunkel, not wanting to cause a war in such an early stage of the nation, compromised and offered to give them the newly developed island of Smartsheepland. Smartsheepland had less people and more vacant land, so it was ideal grounds for colonization. The group was okay with the decision, and received their island. Here was the birth of Cheese Land, populated by the Cheese itz (Not to be confused with Cheez-Its) who renamed Smartsheepish to Cheese Language. Smartsheep were forced out of their homes, some moving to Shalangamaland, many staying homeless. The SSS Nation is now the SCL nation.
Recovery of Smartsheepland
Through harsh and long lasting protests, the Smartsheep were gracefully given both of the Gordon Islands, two small islands inside Cheese Land’s gulf, finally turning the SCL Nation into the SCLS Nation. The nation held like this for a while, until the smartsheep were able to reclaim the entire Gouda Sector of Cheese Land (southmost sector), renaming Gouda City back to Baa City and claiming it as their capital, finally finishing the evolution of the SCLS Nation.
